Iga-yaki (Iga ware) is known for its porous clay body, rich in air pockets that enable the pot to heat gradually and evenly. This slow, consistent heat distribution enhances the natural flavors of ingredients, resulting in tender, fluffy rice, sweet vegetables, and richly flavored meats.

Over time, the pot develops character with use, becoming more seasoned and flavorfulan appealing quality unique to traditional Iga earthenware. With proper care, it is designed to last for many years of enjoyable cooking.

Recommended capacity: Serves 3 to 4 people

Before First Use (Sealing Required):
Add 23 tablespoons of lukewarm water and potato starch or wheat flour to the pot and mix well.

Heat gently over low heat until the mixture begins to boil.

Turn off the heat, allow it to cool, and let it sit overnight.

Rinse and dry thoroughly before use.

Usage Precautions:
Always begin cooking on low heat and increase gradually.

Avoid sudden temperature changesdo not heat the pot rapidly or cool it down abruptly, as this may cause cracking.

Thanks to its excellent heat retention, the pot will continue simmering even after lowering the heat.
